KTR Defends Formula-E Race Amid Allegations
BRs working president KTR has responded to allegations surrounding Hyderabad’s Formula-E race, addressing accusations from Congress leaders and various media outlets. He firmly defended his actions, stating that he has dedicated significant time and resources to promote both the city and the state of Telangana.
KTR made it clear that the Formula E event was not just a race but part of a week-long series of events under the Telangana E-mobility Week, aimed at attracting investments to the state. He mentioned that the event brought around ₹700 crore in economic benefits and drew investments worth approximately ₹15,000 crore, creating numerous job opportunities. The funds for the event were part of a tripartite agreement with Hyderabad’s urban development body HMDA, FIA, and sponsors.
The government official emphasized that the decision to fund the Formula E race was made to enhance Hyderabad’s brand, attract investments, and create job opportunities. KTR took personal responsibility for all administrative matters related to the event’s funding and operation.
Responding to allegations of financial mismanagement, KTR clarified that all transactions were transparent and approved by relevant authorities. He stressed that the initiative was solely aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and encouraging investments in electric vehicles.
KTR criticized the attempts to undermine Hyderabad’s progress, particularly mentioning the detrimental impact of political agendas on the city’s reputation. He dismissed proposals, like hosting the Olympics in Telangana, as impractical and costly.
In conclusion, KTR reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the people of Telangana and working towards enhancing Hyderabad’s global standing. Despite facing political distractions and baseless criticisms, he remained steadfast in his goal of securing a bright future for the state.
