Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS party, criticized the state of villages and towns in Telangana under the Indiramma rule. He claimed that the administration in these areas was in chaos and badly managed.

In villages, the neglect of essential services like sanitation and drainage has made life difficult for the residents. The absence of funds for basic needs such as mosquito control has resulted in an increase in diseases like dengue and malaria, causing significant hardship. Rama Rao blamed the government for not providing funds to local governing bodies, known as panchayats, which has led to this troubling situation.

He expressed his frustration with both the Central and State governments for failing to release necessary financial resources, which has created a severe crisis in managing these panchayats. He noted that even after eight months, bills for previous works have not been settled, leaving local leaders in debt and uncertainty. Rama Rao accused the Congress government of mistreating over 1,800 former local leaders, with arrests and coercive actions for merely seeking payment of outstanding bills.

Furthermore, he demanded clarity from the government regarding the distribution of Rs 500 crore received from the 15th Finance Commission to the gram panchayats. He also questioned the diversion of Rs 2,100 crore of Central funds meant for schemes like the Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Health Mission.

Rama Rao also criticized the lack of funds for municipal corporations and municipalities. He highlighted the severe financial issues in Greater Hyderabad and other municipal corporations across the state. He pointed out that budget constraints have made it impossible to pay wages to workers, worsening the situation further.
