Hyderabad: BRS working president K. Tarakarama Rao (KTR) has sharply criticised the Union Budget 2025-26, accusing the central government of neglecting Telangana once again. He expressed disappointment that the state’s eight MPs from both the Congress and BJP had failed to secure adequate funds for Telangana in Parliament.
Taking to social media platform X, KTR highlighted that the people of Telangana had high hopes for pending projects, but the budget failed to meet their expectations. He alleged that the budget was crafted with a focus on the upcoming Delhi and Bihar Assembly elections, rather than addressing the needs of the entire nation.
KTR also pointed out that Telangana did not receive any special funds apart from routine central grants. He noted that the Tribal University, a long-pending demand, was once again ignored in the budget.
Furthermore, KTR criticised the Centre for not fulfilling the commitments made to Telangana under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He concluded by stating that electing BJP and Congress MPs from Telangana had been futile, as they were unable to secure any significant benefits for the state.
