Congress in Hyderabad challenged BRS working president K T Rama Rao to follow through on his claims of taking a lie detector test regarding the phone-tapping scandal. The Congress leaders, including Government Whip Adi Srinivas and party’s Assembly polls contestant from Sircilla K K Mahender Reddy, mocked KTR’s bold statements and offered their assistance for the test. They mentioned that KTR seems frustrated and is making impulsive reactions without much thought.

Adi Srinivas stated that KTR had previously avoided accepting challenges related to drug abuse and is now simply boasting about being ready for a Narco test. He assured that they are prepared to provide a suitable location and time for the test. Responding to questions, he alleged that the high-end equipment found in Sircilla’s ‘war room’ indicates KTR’s direct involvement in spying on rivals.

Mahender Reddy, who received a legal notice from KTR after filing a complaint with the City Police about the phone-tapping scandal, highlighted the arrest of former DSP Praneet Rao from Sircilla for his role in the snooping. He emphasized that his complaint was made under legal provisions and he would approach the police again to strengthen the case due to threats received. He questioned why KTR did not report snooping activities to law enforcement agencies after Telangana was formed.

Mahender Reddy criticized the present government for allegedly continuing the practice of spying on opponents and accused KTR of trying to normalize this behavior. He suggested that snooping was weaponized by BRS for blackmailing opponents and expressed distrust within the ruling family.
