BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized the Revanth Reddy government for diverting Rs 7,000 crore meant for Rythu Bandhu funds to a loan waiver scheme. He questioned the government’s selection of only 11 lakh farmers out of over 40 lakh who had taken loans worth Rs 1 lakh. Rao highlighted that in previous years, KCR government had waived larger amounts of loans benefiting more farmers.
Rao demanded that the government fulfill its promise in the Congress Manifesto by waiving all crop loans of Rs 2 lakh immediately. He also called for the release of ‘Rythu Bandhu’ funds to all eligible farmers.
The BRS leader emphasized the need for transparency in the loan waiver scheme and urged the government to prioritize the welfare of all farmers in Telangana.
