BRS working president KT Rama Rao admitted that phone-tapping may have been done against a few wrongdoers. He criticized the government for using this issue to distract people from important public issues. Rao made these remarks during a meeting with party leaders at Telangana Bhavan.

Rao mentioned that the police may have tapped the phones of a couple of wrongdoers, but he emphasized that it is their job to do so. He questioned why this issue was being blown out of proportion and labeled as an international crime. Rao suggested that all these actions were being taken to divert people’s attention before the upcoming elections.
