BRS working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of mismanaging the State’s finances and spreading false information. Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, KTR defended the achievements of the previous BRS government under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He also challenged Revanth Reddy to a debate in the Assembly on Telangana’s economic progress.
KTR directly dared Revanth Reddy to hold an open debate in the Assembly about the State’s financial condition. He referred to the State Statistical Atlas Report, an official government document, which he claimed contradicts Revanth Reddy’s statements about Telangana’s debt. KTR stated that the report, released by the Congress government itself, proves that Telangana’s financial position improved under KCR’s leadership.
Talking about the agricultural sector, KTR credited the Kaleshwaram and Mission Kakatiya projects for transforming irrigation in Telangana. He accused the Congress government of neglecting irrigation projects and mismanaging water resources. He also alleged that by emptying the Medigadda barrage, the Congress government created an artificial water crisis, which has harmed farmers.
KTR criticized Revanth Reddy for allegedly comparing Telangana to a cancer patient, calling it an insult to the people of the State. He stated that only a person with a negative mindset would compare a progressing State to a terminal disease. According to KTR, such statements reflect Revanth Reddy’s incompetence and disregard for Telangana’s development.
Additionally, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of having a secret understanding with the BJP. He questioned why the Central government has not taken action against corruption in Telangana despite multiple complaints. He specifically mentioned the Amrut tender scandal, in which he alleged that Revanth Reddy’s relatives were involved. He wondered if there was a hidden deal between the BJP and Revanth Reddy.
KTR urged BJP leader Bandi Sanjay to clarify the party’s stance on corruption. He demanded that the BJP take action against corruption if they are genuinely committed to protecting public funds.
