The Congress party has announced 11 out of the 12 candidates for the Assembly segments in the former Warangal district. They have not yet announced their nominee for the Dornakal seat. Former minister Konda Surekha has been confirmed as the candidate for the Warangal East seat. Naini Rajender Reddy has been given the ticket for the Warangal West seat, while K R Nagaraju, a retired IPS, received the ticket for Wardhannapet (SC). Former MLA Kommuri Prathap Reddy has been chosen for the Jangaon constituency.
Instead of NRI Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, Jhansi’s daughter-in-law M Yeshashwini will be the candidate for the Palakurthi constituency. This is because Jhansi had to drop out of the race due to her citizenship problem. Former MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, who recently joined the Congress from the BJP, will be the candidate for the Parkal seat. Dr Murali Naik will be running for the Mahabubabad (ST) constituency.
In the first list, the Congress had already announced Seethakka for Mulugu – ST, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao for Bhupalpally, Donthi Madhava Reddy for Narsampet, and S Indira for Station Ghanpur – SC.
