Warangal: The government is dedicated to helping farmers. Minister Konda Surekha emphasized this by mentioning the crop loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh. This waiver shows the government’s support for farmers’ welfare.
During the 78th Independence Day celebration at the Police Parade Grounds in Hanumakonda, Surekha raised the national flag. She announced that projects under the Smart Cities Mission will be finished by March 2025.
So far, 49 projects worth about Rs 412 crore have been completed. Another 36 projects, costing Rs 413 crore, are in progress. Additionally, there are 21 early-stage projects valued at Rs 120 crore.
On the tourism front, the P V Narasimha Rao Vignana Vedika in Vangara village is almost finished. This project costs Rs 11 crore. The boating facility in Bhadrakali has been restored for Rs 30 lakh, and plans are underway to start a boating facility in the Waddepally tank.
The government aims to make one crore women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) ‘crorepatis’ in the next five years. This will be achieved through the Mahila Shakti Canteens initiative. Already, Rs 24 crore has been allocated to 208 women’s help groups. A Mahila Shakti Canteen has opened at the Hanumakonda Collectorate, and two more are planned at Bhadrakali temple and Maternity Hospital.
Minister Surekha also visited various departmental stalls and watched cultural programs. Notable attendees included Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, MP K Kavya, Hanumakonda district collector P Pravinya, commissioner of police Amber Kishor Jha, and municipal commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade.
