The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of KLH Bachupally campus recently organized a series of community welfare events at Zilla Parishad High Schools (ZPHS) in Bowrampet and Bachupally. These events were held to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, which honors the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The activities began with a unity pledge, where over 200 school students participated. This pledge was meant to promote national unity and a sense of togetherness among the young students. After the pledge, the Child Personal Hygiene Program was conducted. In this session, KLH volunteers taught students about the importance of personal hygiene and health. Both KLH and school students actively participated in this interactive session.

In addition to the hygiene program, a cleanliness campaign took place. Volunteers worked together to clean the school premises and nearby areas. This activity raised awareness about the environment and encouraged students to take responsibility for keeping their communities clean. The event concluded with a First Aid Training session, where certified trainers demonstrated how to handle emergencies, giving students valuable skills and confidence.

Dr. G Pardha Saradhi Varma, Vice-Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, praised the efforts of the students and volunteers. He emphasized that such community service activities not only honor national leaders but also help students learn important life skills. These activities, he said, complement academic learning and help students understand social challenges, making them more responsible citizens and future leaders.

One of the NSS volunteers, Pranav, shared his thoughts on the experience. He expressed how rewarding it was to participate in these events and see the positive impact they had on the community.

The KLH NSS team is committed to organizing similar activities in the future, focusing on health, hygiene, and social responsibility. Their goal is to build a stronger, more united community.

Under the guidance of Dr. L Koteswara Rao, Principal of KLH Bachupally campus, and G. Lavanya, the NSS Convenor, these events are planned and executed successfully. The faculty and staff also play a crucial role in ensuring that the initiatives align with the mission of promoting social responsibility among students.
