Star all-rounder Andre Russell from the Kolkata Knight Riders had to walk off the field after cramping up during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He squatted down on his knees in agony while turning back to go to his run-up for the final ball of the over. Captain Nitish Rana enquired about his status, and soon after that conversation, Russell left the ground in the eighth over of the game. There is no official word on his status, but it does not seem like he will come back to bowl his remaining two overs.

Russell picked up two crucial wickets in his first over of the game, but it remains to be seen if he comes out to bat or not. Earlier in the day, Kolkata won the toss and opted to field, and Hyderabad started strong thanks to Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal. However, Russell’s one over pulled things back. At the time of filing the copy, Hyderabad were 100 for two in 11 overs, with Brook and Aiden Markram looking dangerous.
