Amber Kishore Jha, who joined the IPS in 2009, has become the new Commissioner of Police in Warangal. This appointment was made by the Election Commission of India (ECI) due to the upcoming elections in the Telangana Assembly. The previous Commissioner, A V Ranganath, was transferred along with several others in the state. Jha took over from Dasari Muralidhar, who was temporarily in charge after Ranganath’s departure.

Jha’s career started as the ASP of Adilabad in 2009. He then became the OSD of Warangal in 2012 and later the Additional SP. In 2014, he worked as the SP of Warangal. He has also served as the SP of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Hyderabad south zone DCP, and in the Central services. Earlier this year, Jha was promoted to DIG and appointed as the Rachakoda Joint Commissioner. Other officials, including Abdul Bari and Sitaram, the DCPs of the Central Zone and West Zone, welcomed Jha as the new Commissioner.
