Union Minister and State BJP chief G Kishan Reddy criticized the BRS and Congress for undemocratic practices that insult the people’s electoral mandates. He mentioned that during the 10 years of the BRS regime, Chief Minister KCR operated a dictatorial governance, ignoring democratic norms and misusing the State administration for political gain. Reddy also highlighted the ongoing phone-tapping scandal, accusing the BRS government of violating election codes and engaging in political vendettas.
Reddy called for a high-level investigation into the phone-tapping scandal and demanded strict action against KCR and those responsible. He claimed that BJP leaders’ phones were tapped during various elections, violating EC rules. Reddy also criticized the Election Commission for not intervening in the issue and called for a review of the recognition of BRS.
The BJP leader accused the BRS of destroying democratic systems in the State and turning it into a “private limited company.” He condemned KCR for abusing power against political opponents and encouraging defections, making the anti-defection law meaningless. Reddy also criticized the Congress for adopting similar practices and failing to fulfill promises made to farmers.
Reddy specifically mentioned the Congress’s failure to implement guarantees made to farmers, including financial support and loan waivers. He demanded clarity from the government on its plans regarding farm loan waivers and criticized their inaction in addressing the growing water shortage in the State.
