The State BJP in Hyderabad is taking a stand against the alleged attack by the slaughterhouse mafia on tribal women and children in Chengicherla during the Holi festival. The Mahila Morcha protested, while Bajarang Dal, Hindu Vahini, and BJYM provided food to the victims.
Union Minister and State party chief G Kishan Reddy criticized the government and CM A Revanth Reddy, demanding a judicial inquiry and strict action against those responsible. He highlighted the lack of arrests even after 40 hours, with police claiming they needed more time to record statements due to staff shortages.
Reddy described how the attack unfolded on Holi-eve, where men were at a place of worship while tribal women were dancing at home. Nearby individuals threw stones, injuring 30 people. Despite CM Reddy’s focus on women’s empowerment, there was no immediate response to the incident.
The police allegedly pressured hospitals to treat injured women as outpatients, only admitting one when pressured. Reddy condemned the police for underplaying the incident and not taking appropriate legal action against the attackers.
He mentioned a previous incident where the police overlooked an attack by the slaughterhouse mafia on tribal women. The BJP vowed to support the victims and filed complaints with national commissions for ST and human rights.
Reddy criticized the slaughterhouse in Chengicherla for flouting regulations and contaminating groundwater. He called for its closure and a thorough investigation into illegal activities. He accused the mafia of influencing political parties like Majlis and Congress to continue their operations.
