Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, has dismissed a recent meeting of opposition parties in Chennai as meaningless. The meeting was attended by the Congress, BRS, DMK, and left parties to discuss the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. Speaking on Saturday, Reddy clarified that the central government has not yet made any decisions about the delimitation process or its rules.

He accused the opposition parties of spreading false information and misleading the public. According to him, they are wrongly suggesting that the process will harm southern states. Reddy believes that these parties are using delimitation as an excuse to target the BJP rather than focusing on real issues.

Reddy pointed out that the Congress is already facing public anger due to unfulfilled promises in Telangana and Karnataka. Similarly, the DMK is dealing with criticism over allegations of nepotism and corruption in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the BRS recently lost power, failed to win a single seat in the last parliamentary elections, and even chose not to participate in the recent MLC elections.

He further alleged that these opposition parties are trying to create divisions between North and South India to distract people and provoke emotional reactions. Reddy also accused the Congress of attempting to create instability out of frustration. Since their previous strategies have failed, he claimed, the party has now started a new narrative that the delimitation process will harm South India.
