Union Minister of Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy shared that the Central government, led by PM Modi, has spent around Rs 48,000 crore on development projects in Hyderabad. He presented a report detailing his work to improve the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency. This included initiatives to upgrade railway stations like Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Nampally, and Begumpet to offer a better experience for travelers.
Reddy mentioned the completion of the Charlapally railway terminal and MMTS phase-II works, which were funded entirely by the Centre. He also discussed plans to extend the project to Yadadri with 100% Central funds. Additionally, he highlighted the introduction of four Vande Bharat trains and efforts to bring two more to the twin cities. He also mentioned the Outer Ring Rail project, which is currently undergoing a final location survey to enhance public transportation systems in the State.
The minister elaborated on various development projects such as the Sanatnagar ESIC Medical College and Hospital, the construction of Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centres, and infrastructure development in basti hospitals. He also discussed initiatives like promoting traditional medical practices, establishing Janaushadhi kendras, and improving infrastructure in government educational institutions through schemes like RUSA.
Reddy emphasized his focus on creating facilities, improving sports infrastructure, promoting research through Atal Tinkering Labs and Incubation Centres, and establishing skill development centers for youth and women. He also mentioned efforts to ensure women’s safety under the Nirbhaya fund and initiatives like distributing aid to protect the dignity of Divyang individuals.
As chairman of the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee, Reddy facilitated loans under various Central schemes for workers. He also highlighted his work in making Hyderabad one of the top three cities for PM SVANidhi saturation, providing financial aid to street food vendors. Throughout his report, Reddy showcased his dedication to promoting development and welfare in Hyderabad.
