Hyderabad: State BJP president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy criticized the Telangana government on Sunday, accusing it of arrogance and mishandling several key issues. He pointed to recent incidents of police brutality against Hindus over the desecration of the Mutyalamma temple and the lathi-charge on unemployed youth and students in Ashoknagar as examples.

Speaking to the media, Reddy said that unemployed youth had been protesting in Ashoknagar for the past week, but Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the government had not taken the time to address their concerns. He recalled how the CM used to engage with students in the Ashoknagar library before coming to power, but now, the government had resorted to using force against them.

Reddy further criticized the government for following the policies of the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi), listing numerous issues such as the mishandling of entrance tests, the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) paper leaks, and the frequent cancellation of exams. He described these problems as the hallmarks of the BRS administration.

The Minister also raised concerns about the government’s treatment of the unemployed, questioning why the Chief Minister and Rahul Gandhi could visit Ashoknagar before the elections but were now avoiding the issue. He urged the CM to meet with the unemployed youth and discuss their concerns, even suggesting that the CM bring police for security if necessary.

Reddy criticized the government’s approach to public service exams, particularly the suggestion that candidates should use sources like Wikipedia and Google. He questioned whether marks would be awarded for answers based on such sources and pointed out that students were worried about the validity of answering questions based on Telugu Academy books. He also raised doubts about GO 29, the government order related to the exams.

In addition, Reddy questioned why the public service exams were being held only in Hyderabad and accused the government of being incompetent in conducting them. He reiterated that there were many unresolved issues with GO 29, which was causing confusion among job aspirants.

Turning to the recent temple incident, Reddy condemned the police lathi-charge on peaceful protesters and asked whether the government intended to incite violence in Hindu temples. He accused the government of adopting an anti-Hindu stance and filing cases against people celebrating Hindu festivals like Vinayaka Chavithi, Bonalu, and Navaratri. He also mentioned that illegal cases were filed against DJs, sound engineers, and pandal organizers.

Lastly, Reddy questioned why the police and government did nothing when large gatherings took place near the temple under the guise of motivational classes. He accused the Congress-led government of trying to divert attention from its failures by engaging in lathi charges, illegal killings, and house demolitions, rather than fulfilling its election promises.
