Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has emphasized the importance of women’s development for India to achieve its vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Speaking at a BJP-organized meeting on Saturday, he highlighted the global progress in addressing women’s issues and promoting empowerment. He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda have urged celebrations of Women’s Day in every city, town, and village. Reddy encouraged people to take inspiration from how women overcome challenges and move forward.
He pointed out that India has always respected women, who are now excelling in various fields. Women have taken on roles as fighter pilots and contributed to space technology. In banking, policing, education, and IT, women work with confidence and dedication. In Hyderabad alone, lakhs of girls are making significant contributions to the IT sector.
Reddy stressed the need to eliminate discrimination in all areas. He noted that Prime Minister Modi has created opportunities for women in the military, allowing them to serve as soldiers guarding the country’s borders under extreme conditions. He also mentioned Modi’s efforts to place women at the forefront of politics by introducing reservations for women from ward members to Members of Parliament.
He criticized previous Congress governments, stating that no Congress Prime Minister had taken steps to provide such reservations. He emphasized that only Modi successfully passed a bill ensuring 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
