The Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, announced that President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the year-long 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitharama Raju. The closing event will take place on July 4 in Hyderabad.
Reddy spoke about Alluri’s name, life, sacrifice, mission, history, and courage in fighting against the British Raj for freedom. He said that Alluri remains an inspiration for generations to come and that his principles and values should be emulated by everyone.
The Centre is planning to develop places where Alluri moved during his fight against the British as tourist spots so that his life and mission will continue to inspire future generations. The Kshatriya Seva Samithi and Alluri Women’s Brigade have been organizing a series of programmes to mark the celebrations.
Reddy called on officials to take steps to live screen the closing ceremony in every village connected with the life and mission of the freedom fighter. He asked people to participate in the closing ceremony in Hyderabad to pay tribute to the Telugu freedom fighter.
