The Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, has accused the BRS of attempting to use its wealth to overthrow the BJP-led government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reddy made these comments in response to reports of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao allegedly offering to fund elections of parties opposing BJP if he is made head of the alliance. The BRS chief is known for spending hundreds of crores to win Assembly elections in Telangana, and Reddy believes that this ill-gotten wealth is being used to fund the opposition parties in upcoming elections.

Reddy has called for the people of Telangana to discuss this issue at every forum, as the BRS does not talk about development and the Kalawakuntla family is only speaking against Modi, the Centre, and BJP. Reddy believes that the BRS chief wants to fund elections and become chairman and leader of all dynastic parties in the country. He also demanded that KCR explain to the people of Telangana how he could amass thousands of crores and how much cut has been taken in debt raised in development of the state to fund the dynastic parties in the ensuing elections.

Reddy alleged that the BRS chief and his family’s ill-gotten wealth comes from the land mafia, threatening people for percentages in their businesses, real estate, and purchasing people (vote) in Telangana. However, citizens in Telangana are keeping their eyes open to what is happening in the state. Reddy cited BJP’s recent victories in Huzurabad, Dubbaka, Munugodu, GHMC elections, and teacher MLC elections as evidence of changing people’s views. Finally, Reddy criticized BRS for sullying the image of Telangana across the country with the CM’s family members’ role in the alleged Delhi liquor scam.
