G Kishan Reddy, BJP State president and Union Minister of Coal and Mines, challenged the Congress government to investigate financial irregularities and bill manipulation in Singareni during the BRS regime. He announced plans to write a letter to the State government requesting an inquiry into the alleged robbery that occurred in Singareni under the previous BRS government.
Reddy blamed BRS and KCR’s family for causing Singareni to go bankrupt. He assured that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre would address the issues faced by Singareni and its workers to ensure their welfare in the future. Coal and electricity debts from the BR’s government amount to Rs 30,000 crore, according to Reddy.
The State government’s failure to pay power subsidies to utilities has worsened Singareni’s financial situation. Reddy mentioned that if these arrears were cleared, both Singareni and the power utilities would benefit. He also discussed the auctioning of coal blocks, highlighting that Singareni would benefit from these auctions and that state governments would receive 14% of the revenue.
The Centre will not receive any revenue from these auctions, but Reddy warned that if state governments do not conduct coal mine auctions promptly, the Central government will step in. He emphasized the need for a geological survey in Godavari’s catchment areas in Telangana to boost coal production and create more job opportunities.
Reddy criticized alleged police misconduct against BJYM members protesting at the Telangana Public Service Commission office. He accused the Congress of failing to fulfill promises made to unemployed individuals and students. Additionally, Reddy mentioned that the Centre had increased the MSP for 13 types of crops, which would benefit rice and cotton farmers in Telangana.
