Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender criticized the Telangana police and government in a joint media conference. They expressed their objection to the government’s order to convert land in Nirmal town, which is being opposed by local farmers and residents.

Reddy mentioned that former BJP MLA Yeleti Maheswar Reddy had gone on a fast in support of the people’s struggle against the master plan. However, instead of addressing the issue, the government allowed the police to charge BJP leaders and farmers with lathis. Many youngsters were seriously injured, with some even sustaining head injuries.

Reddy also condemned the arrest of BJP national vice-president D K Aruna, who was going to Nirmal to express support for the fasting ex-MLA. He criticized the police for forcefully dragging and arresting her. He urged the police to act according to the law and not in a biased manner.

Reddy highlighted that people in villages across the state, not just in Nirmal and Adilabad, are facing problems due to the Dhrani portal. BRS legislators and leaders have been threatening people to give up their lands or face legal action. Reddy assured that the party won’t be intimidated by arrests and police suppression and will continue to question the government’s alleged irregularities and corruption.

He also mentioned a case of police highhandedness against a tribal woman in LB Nagar and promised that the party would support her. Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of running a government that does not prioritize land security. He criticized the police for detaining political party leaders and civil society members during CM’s meetings.

Reddy alleged that the government has neglected governance and turned it into a real estate company. He accused the Kalwakuntla family of turning Telangana into a police state, where arrests and suppression of civil rights have become common. Eatala supported Reddy’s claims and accused the Telangana police of dancing to the CM’s tunes instead of following the law.

Eatala mentioned specific incidents, such as the alleged custodial death of a dalit woman in Addaguduru police station and the suicide of a BJP activist due to police harassment. He warned the police to adhere to the law or face legal consequences.
