The North Zone DCP Rohini Priyadarshini honored the mother and daughter for confronting and chasing away two robbers who entered their home in Begumpet. The robbers were wearing helmets, masks, and carrying guns.
The incident occurred when two unidentified armed men invaded a house in Begumpet. A video of the intense struggle between the mother-daughter duo and the robbers quickly went viral on social media, earning them praise from netizens.
According to DCP Rohini Priyadarshini, the accused not only wanted to rob the house but also attempted murder. They had previously visited the house during Diwali in 2022 and had surveyed the area two days before the incident, posing as courier boys to gain entry.
The robbers threatened the women with weapons and knives once inside the house. Both accused were arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. They have been presented to XI Criminal Court, Secunderabad, for judicial remand along with seized items such as ropes, weapons, knives, and a gift box.
The duo planned the robbery, conducted surveillance before the attempt, and selected the house. One of them pretended to be a courier and gained entry into the house forcefully. There was a struggle between the minor girl and one of the robbers, with the mother also intervening to stop the robbery attempt.
During the altercation, one of the robbers tried to use a homemade weapon against the mother and daughter.
