State BJP chief and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to an open debate on his accusations that the BJP and BRS are the same. Reddy also vowed to change the name of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar if the BJP comes to power. He also challenged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to make public the letters written to him on sanctioning medical colleges in Telangana.

During a media address, Reddy criticized the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, KCR, and MIM. He expressed his readiness to debate on the issue and stated that the BJP will never join hands with a party that is in touch with the MIM. Reddy claimed that both the Congress and BRS are joining forces, with members of KCR’s family and Sonia Gandhi having a talk to help each other. He added that their goal is to keep the BJP away from power.

Reddy confidently stated that in 2024, Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister and no one can stop him. He also mentioned that the name of Hyderabad would be changed to Bhagyanagar, citing examples of other cities like Chennai, Mumbai, and Calcutta where names were changed even when the saffron party was not in power. Reddy emphasized the party’s commitment to dismantling relics that symbolize colonialism and enslavement of mind and culture.

Reddy claimed that people want to get rid of the BRS and accused the BRS and Congress of making promises that are not implementable. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s candidates Eatala Rajender and G Venkataramana Reddy, stating that they will defeat KCR in Kamareddy and Gajwel respectively.

Reddy accused both the BRS and Congress of following appeasement politics with the MIM. He criticized KCR’s promise to increase minority reservations from 4 to 12%, stating that it goes against the Constitution. Reddy also questioned the lack of development, proper education, drainage, and diverted Metro route in the Old City of Hyderabad. He mentioned that the OBC reservations extended by the Centre will benefit poor Muslims, Christians, and Hindus as well.

Reddy warned people of a potential “suitcase government” if Congress comes to power, sending them to Rahul Gandhi. He challenged KCR to release even 50% of the letters he has written on the sanctioning of medical colleges and offered to quit politics if he fails to do so. Reddy also criticized the Karnataka government for releasing ads in Telangana using taxpayer’s money and accused the Congress of funding Telangana elections by collecting “Telangana Election Tax” from builders and industries.
