Farmers in Telangana are protesting against the central government’s lack of commitment to the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. With a strong determination to stand by the farmers, the Chief Minister of Telangana has launched the “Raitu Bandhu” program, providing financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 per acre to support farmers. In response, the BJP government at the center has also introduced a program that offers Rs. 6,000 per year to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. However, in order to receive these benefits, farmers are facing numerous hurdles and are struggling to meet the required criteria.

To register their names and provide necessary details along with land ownership documents, farmers have been attending seminars equipped with relevant information and essential paperwork. These seminars have been conducted at the gram panchayat level from May 22 to June 10, but unfortunately, many farmers were unable to complete the scrutiny process due to technical difficulties. In light of this, the government has announced that similar seminars will be held at the taluka level starting from June 24. Additionally, steps have been taken to ensure that the funds are directly deposited into the farmers’ bank accounts through online platforms in Telangana.

However, for farmers to actually receive the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits, they would need to navigate through complicated bureaucratic processes. Alternatively, they can also participate in the seminars that have been organized specifically for this purpose.
