The National Medical Commission has given permission for three medical colleges in Telangana to commence their academic sessions from the upcoming academic year. The Government Medical College in Khammam has been granted permission for 100 MBBS seats from 2023-24. Additionally, two new medical colleges in Kamareddy and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts have also been granted permission to start their academic sessions for the same academic year. The State Health Minister T Harish Rao has expressed his satisfaction with this development and stated that it is a significant step towards achieving a medical college in every district. He further informed that seven more medical colleges are at various levels for permission in Telangana.
