Warangal: In a crowd of thousands, spotting Jangaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is easy. Known for his tall stature, Palla has carved a unique identity for himself in both education and politics.

He began his political journey with the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), which is linked to the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Later, he shifted to right-wing politics. In 2014, he joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), now called the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and ran for the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat but did not win. Despite this initial setback, Palla quickly became an important figure within the BRS, thanks to his strong management skills and close ties with former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Although Palla wanted to become a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), there were no available seats for him in the Warangal district at that time. However, he was elected twice as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) representing the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates Constituency. In 2023, Palla finally got the chance to enter the Assembly from the Jangaon seat. Even though his party lost power, Palla remains optimistic about improving his constituency.

Academically, Palla completed his MSc and PhD at Osmania University and worked as a faculty member before founding the Anurag Group of Institutions. He was awarded the Dr. Tamahanker Memorial Prize by the Magnetic Society of India for the Best Research Paper. Coming from a small village called Shodashapally, now part of the Hanumakonda district, Palla has grown into a significant figure and continues to be an influential member in the KCR faction.
