The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has recently spoken out against the dissemination of false information about women’s safety in the state. He stated that such practices are not acceptable and should not be tolerated. Speaking at the Women Safety Expo, he highlighted that false campaigns against women’s safety in Kerala are on the rise, and attacks against women are becoming more frequent. However, he emphasized that there are numerous laws in place that are useful in protecting women, and urged the public to use these security measures and laws wisely when problems arise.

CM Vijayan also pointed out that women should make use of the initiatives and programmes of the government to ensure their economic and social security. These programmes include measures to stop domestic abuse, outlaw dowry, and guarantee safe workplaces. He stressed that gender equality and gender justice can only be served if women avail themselves of these resources.

The Chief Minister encouraged women to take legal action against any abuse they may face, rather than tolerating it. He emphasized that people should not hesitate to register complaints, as failing to do so only serves to nourish offenders. He urged women to adopt a mindset of ensuring that negative experiences are not suffered by anyone else.

Finally, CM Vijayan advised women to use opportunities like the Women Safety Expo to raise their awareness and understanding about their rights. By doing so, they will be better equipped to protect themselves and seek justice when necessary.
