The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao, is proud of the state’s historical heritage that dates back almost 20 million years. He’s happy that historians have worked hard to document and preserve this history. To help pass this knowledge on to future generations, the Chief Minister unveiled five volumes of a Telangana history book.

The books were published by Bharat Jagruti Sansthan, and they contain information gathered over six years by the History Department of India Awakening. Historian and writer Sriramoju Haragopal led this research, and Mamidi Harikrishna and Vemuganti Muralikrishna edited the books. During their meeting with the Chief Minister, the historians explained how they studied fossils, buildings, inscriptions, coins, and scriptures to document Telangana’s history.
