The phone tapping case in Hyderabad has taken many twists and turns. The police have now taken Bhupalpally Additional SP Bhujanga Rao into custody for questioning. Another SIB official, Praneeth Rao, was already arrested and made some shocking revelations during interrogation.

It is reported that during former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s regime, Praneeth Rao was specially appointed to tap the phones of big political leaders from opposition parties. They also allegedly purchased advanced software from Israel for this purpose. The SIB official would update top BRS leadership daily about the phone tapping results to use them against political opponents.

Tirupati Rao, another police official, is also involved in the phone tapping case along with the two accused officials. Former Intelligence IG Prabhakar Rao is also under scrutiny, with reports suggesting he fled to America after the case was registered. Investigators are gathering evidence to determine if he was also involved.

Damaged hard disks recovered from Praneeth Rao are currently undergoing forensic study. Once the information is extracted, the probe will progress quickly and more officials may be taken into custody for questioning. Search operations are being conducted based on information provided by Praneeth Rao, who allegedly tapped phones of politicians, bureaucrats, police officials, and businessmen illegally.

Praneeth Rao is also accused of deleting important data from hard disks in the SIB office and damaging several hard disks after the BRS lost in the Assembly elections last year.
