Hyderabad: The BRS MLC K Kavitha will stay in judicial custody longer. The Delhi Court decided on Friday to extend her custody until July 31. Kavitha appeared in Rouse Avenue Court virtually for the hearing.

In another case by the CBI, the special court Judge Kaveri Baweja extended her custody until August 8. This decision was made on Thursday night.

Kavitha, along with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, were produced virtually. Kavitha had filed a default bail petition on July 22. She claimed the CBI did not file a full chargesheet within the required 60 days.

Her lawyers argued that the CBI illegally arrested her on April 11, 2024. They stated that the CBI filed an incomplete chargesheet on June 7 and pointed out errors in it. The judge decided to review the case again on July 26.

Kavitha was arrested by the CBI on April 11 while she was in Tihar Jail. The case relates to allegations by the ED that she was a key conspirator in the now-scrapped Delhi Liquor Policy.

Recently, Kavitha fell ill and received treatment at the Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital. Doctors informed jail officials that she was suffering from fever, low blood pressure, and had lost about 10 kg in weight.
