In Hyderabad, BRS MLC K Kavitha faced a setback before the Lok Sabha election as the Rouse Avenue Court extended her judicial custody until April 23.

Kavitha appeared in court on Tuesday after the Enforcement Directorate requested an extension of custody for another 14 days. The ED accused Kavitha of tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses. Despite her counsel’s objections, the court decided to keep her in custody.

Unable to speak in court, Kavitha handed a four-page letter to the media outside, denying any involvement in the alleged scam. She claimed that the case was based on unfounded statements and aimed to tarnish her political reputation.
