BRS MLC K Kavitha will stay in Tihar Jail for another 14 days after the Rouse Avenue Court extended her judicial custody until May 7. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) plans to submit a charge sheet within 60 days.

The ED and CBI had requested for Kavitha’s custody, which ended on Tuesday. They brought her before Judge Justice Kaveri Baweja to seek a 14-day extension. The agencies argued that both Kavitha and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were crucial to the investigation and should not be granted bail.

The court agreed with the agencies and ordered Kavitha to appear via video conference on May 7. She was arrested by the ED on March 15 and later by the CBI on April 11 while already in custody.

During the hearing, arguments were made for and against Kavitha’s bail petition. The court will continue to hear from both sides before making a decision. The ED plans to file a charge sheet in the Delhi Liquor Policy case within 60 days, emphasizing the importance of Kavitha and Kejriwal in the investigation.
