Karuna Gopal Vartakavi, founder-president of Foundation for Futuristic Cities and independent director of Engineers India Ltd, recently spoke at an event organized by ICFAI Staff College in Hyderabad. She emphasized the importance of youth in shaping the future of the country.
During her lecture titled “Amrit Kaal Vimarsh Viksit Bharat@ 2047- Voice of Youth,” Karuna highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to develop India by 2047. She praised India’s progress under Modi’s leadership and noted how the country is competing with nations like Germany and Japan. Karuna also discussed government programs for youth and the success of girls in STEM fields globally.
Karuna shared her experiences working with ICFAI and recalled a successful project completed by students in 2005. She urged the youth to be vigilant against cyber threats, avoid brain drain, and contribute to the nation’s growth. She encouraged them to be responsible citizens and respect elders.
The Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Prof. L S Ganesh, stressed the importance of India being viewed as a sensitive, sensible, and fair nation. He highlighted the role of youth’s competence, character, and culture in the country’s development. Dr. K L Narayana and Dr. K S Venugopal Rao also addressed the audience, discussing campaigns for India’s development and the demographic advantage of India’s young workforce in technology and innovation.
Dr. M Bhaskara Rao from ICFAI Staff College coordinated the event, which was attended by students and faculty members from the university.
