The Election Commission has told the Karnataka government to stop advertising its welfare schemes in Telangana newspapers. The commission has asked the Chief Secretary of the State Government to explain the statements made so far. BJP leaders have criticized the actions of the Karnataka government and have asked the Election Commission to take legal action against the Chief Minister and Ministers of Karnataka under Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act. In response to the complaint, the Election Commission has ordered the advertisements to be stopped immediately and has asked the Karnataka Chief Secretary to provide an explanation by 5 pm on Tuesday.
