Kadiyam Srihari, leader of BRS, spoke to the media before the ‘Chalo Nalgonda’ public meeting. He accused the Revanth Reddy government of not acknowledging the progress made by KCR and emphasized the importance of telling the truth to the people of Telangana. Srihari stated that the BRS government has been preventing the Centre from encroaching on Telangana river waters for ten years, but the newly elected Congress government has handed over the management of rivers to the Krishna and Godavari river water boards within just two months. He expressed concern over this decision and its negative impact on Telangana farmers.
In protest against the Congress government’s approach to river water conservation, an open meeting is being held in Nalgonda district. Srihari claimed that the Congress government is afraid of the BRS public meeting and criticized them for spreading falsehoods in the assembly. He argued against handing over projects under the Krishna river to KRMB, as it could lead to desertification and electricity problems in Telangana.
Srihari accused the Congress government of trying to defame BRS and criticized the Revanth Reddy government for failing to recognize KCR’s development efforts. He stressed the need for Congress to be honest with the people and mentioned that KCR will explain the consequences of handing over Telangana river waters to the Centre. He concluded by stating that the water movement initiated today is only the first step and will be intensified in the future.
