Hyderabad: State Excise and Prohibition and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments at a public meeting in Adilabad. Rao claimed that Modi’s remarks about corruption and nepotism were ironic, considering the allegations against his own party.
Rao questioned why Modi has not ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, despite demands from the State government. He also accused the BJP of maintaining secretive political relations with the BRS party.
The minister also brought up the long-standing water disputes between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, criticizing the Centre for not taking action to resolve them. Rao stated that the BJP has no right to ask for votes in Telangana without addressing these issues.
Rao claimed that the BJP’s political agenda involves dividing people based on caste and religion to gain votes. He called for the Congress to come to power at the Centre to protect the country’s interests, citing AICC leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi’s sacrifice of the PM post.
