Nagar Kurnool: Preparations are underway for the National Lok Adalat, scheduled to take place in December across the district. During a coordination meeting at the Nagar Kurnool court complex, District Legal Services Authority Chairman and District Principal & Sessions Judge, D. Rajesh Babu, spoke about the importance of resolving a large number of cases through mutual agreement.
Judge Rajesh Babu highlighted that there are currently 13,762 pending cases in various courts across Nagar Kurnool. Out of these, 6,236 are land disputes and 7,526 are criminal cases. He emphasized the need for police officials and department heads to take steps to ensure that litigants use the Lok Adalat in December to settle these long-pending cases.
The judge also mentioned the success of the previous National Lok Adalat held on September 29, where 20,071 cases were resolved. He urged efforts to increase participation in the upcoming December session to settle even more cases.
Judge Rajesh Babu reminded the police of their responsibility to ensure that individuals who receive court summons attend court. He encouraged the police to take a more active role in resolving cases.
Additionally, Senior Civil Judge Sabita, who is also the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, stressed the importance of cooperation from the police, lawyers, and other departmental officials to ensure the success of the Lok Adalat.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including Additional SP Rameshwar, Excise Superintendent Gayatri, lawyers, Circle Inspectors (CIs), Sub-Inspectors (SIs), public prosecutors, and other police officers.
