The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (JUDA) has threatened to boycott outpatients and elective operations starting from December 19. They are taking this action due to the delay in receiving stipends for second and third-year junior residents and house surgeons since September. JUDA president Dr P Kaushik Kumar expressed concern over the financial distress caused by this delay. Despite multiple representations to various authorities, the stipends have not been cleared. As a last resort, junior doctors and senior residents have collectively decided to go on strike.

JUDA is urging the government to credit stipends on a specific date every month and appoint a person in charge in the finance department who can clear medical bills within 24 hours of the cheque release.
