Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) said that the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election, scheduled for November 11, will be a test for the Congress government’s governance, law and order, and credibility.
Speaking at a meeting held at Telangana Bhavan, KTR launched a strong attack on the Congress government, accusing it of stopping public welfare projects, running a “bulldozer rule”, and betraying the people with false guarantees.
“For two years, the Congress government has not initiated a single people-oriented program. Instead, they’ve focused only on propaganda and commissions,” KTR said.
He urged voters in Jubilee Hills to remember the “420 guarantees” and the deceptive governance of Congress before casting their votes.
Congress Governance Under Fire
KTR alleged that the Congress administration has completely failed, and its policies have brought development in Hyderabad and Telangana to a halt. He claimed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had shelved key infrastructure projects such as the Airport Metro Expressway and Phase-II Metro plans, putting the city’s growth at risk.
On the issue of BC reservations, KTR accused both Congress and BJP of misleading backward communities. He said the Congress government’s unplanned reservation move was struck down by the court, exposing its incompetence.
“If Congress and BJP truly care about BCs, they should push for a constitutional amendment in Parliament. BRS will extend full support if such a bill is introduced,” KTR stated.
Ministers Fighting for Commissions
Responding to reports of internal disputes among Congress ministers, KTR said:
“Cabinet ministers are fighting for commissions instead of governance. From tenders to bill approvals, every discussion in this government revolves around kickbacks.”
He criticized the Chief Minister and ministers for remaining silent despite corruption allegations, questioning who is actually governing Telangana if the cabinet is busy fighting for shares.
Appeal to Jubilee Hills Voters
KTR appealed to Jubilee Hills voters to use this bypoll as the first corrective step against Congress misrule.
“Only by defeating the Congress candidate can people remind the government of its promises and force it to act. If Congress wins here, they’ll cancel all development and welfare schemes started by the previous BRS government,” KTR warned.
He concluded that the Jubilee Hills by-election is not just a local contest but a referendum on the Congress government’s two-year record in Telangana.
