New Delhi/Hyderabad: The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 is speeding up its work to submit its report to Parliament during the upcoming sessions.

This urgency comes as there has been a lot of controversy in different states. State Waqf Boards have been issuing notices claiming ownership of agricultural land, urban areas, and religious properties that belong to other religious communities.

During these meetings, the committee members are discussing important points that will be included in the report. Their discussions are based on suggestions, complaints, and input from various stakeholders. The JPC’s work is almost complete, and members are now finalizing the report, which they plan to submit in the next Parliament session.
