Nalgonda: “If we focus on the news that society needs instead of sensational headlines, we can bring about positive change,” said Poorna Chandra, the Additional Collector of Nalgonda. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, especially in journalism, where staying updated is crucial.
Poorna Chandra made these remarks while attending the ‘Varthalap Workshop’ for journalists, held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Nalgonda on Thursday. He was the chief guest at the event.
In his speech, he highlighted the role of the media as the fourth pillar of society. He stressed that the media must adapt to changing times and ensure that news is based on factual verification and public opinion.
He also praised the Press Information Bureau (PIB) for organizing district-level workshops like this, which help enhance the skills of journalists.
In addition to the workshop, a photo exhibition was held as part of ‘Poshan Masam’ (Nutrition Month). Poorna Chandra explained that the exhibition aimed to educate the public on daily health precautions and the types of food that should be consumed for better nutrition.
Deputy Director of PIB, Dr. Manas Krishnakant, and other officials also attended the event.
