In Hanumakonda, journalists gathered to honor the memory of Gattigoppula Yogi Reddy, a 36-year-old journalist, and his 9-year-old daughter, Adya Reddy. Tragically, both were found hanging on Friday. Reports suggest that Yogi first hanged his daughter before taking his own life.
On Friday morning, Yogi left home with Adya and did not return by the evening. His wife, Swapna, tried to reach him, but his phone was turned off.
Later, a cameraman discovered Yogi and Adya at their office near Ekasila Park. Adya was still alive but struggling. The cameraman, along with other journalists, quickly took her to a private hospital. Sadly, Adya passed away during treatment.
The exact reason behind Yogi’s drastic actions is unclear, but it is believed that financial difficulties played a major role. Their last rites were conducted in Jangaon, where Yogi originally came from, although he lived in Nakkalagutta, Hanumakonda.
Members of the Press Club, including Vemula Nagaraju, Bollarapu Sadaiah, and several senior journalists, paid their respects to Yogi and his daughter during the tribute.
