NSUI Leader Demands Suspension of Temple Officer Over Corruption Allegations
NSUI Gadwal District President Venkatesh has called for the immediate suspension of Alampur Jogulamba Temple Executive Officer (EO) Purender. He accused Purender of corruption and misuse of power.
On Tuesday, Venkatesh met M.S.S. Somaraju, the Principal Secretary to Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, in Hyderabad. During the meeting, he filed a formal complaint, alleging that Purender misused temple funds and acquired assets worth crores through corrupt practices. Purender has been managing the Jogulamba, Jammulamma, and Pagunta temples for several years.
Venkatesh also claimed that temple funds have not been properly audited for years. He said that donations and offerings made by devotees were not properly accounted for. Additionally, he alleged that bank officials, under the EO’s influence, did not take any action. As a result, devotees have been deprived of basic facilities.
After receiving the complaint, Principal Secretary Somaraju immediately contacted the Endowments Commissioner. He instructed them to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report on the allegations.
