Jogulamba Gadwal Celebrates Public Governance with 2K Run and Medical Camp
A 2K Run was organized on Tuesday at Rajiv X Road in Jogulamba Gadwal district as part of the “Praja Palana-Praja Vijaya Utsavalu.” This event marked one year of the state’s public governance. District Collector B.M. Santosh flagged off the run, officially starting the celebrations.
Speaking at the event, the Collector emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating that the district was celebrating the accomplishments of public governance with enthusiasm. The day was observed as “Urban Day” under the leadership of the municipal corporation, with the 2K Run being a major attraction.
The Collector also highlighted key initiatives by the state government. He mentioned efforts to create job opportunities for unemployed youth and announced an increase in diet charges for students in hostels and residential schools. Additionally, he shared plans to distribute high-quality fine rice to schools and hostels in the future.
Following the run, a special medical camp was set up at the municipal office. The camp offered health check-ups to sanitation workers, members of MEPMA (Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas), self-help group members, and municipal staff.
Several key officials attended the event, including Additional Collector Narsing Rao, Municipal Commissioner Dasharath, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, DYSO Anand, municipal councillors, and students. The event brought together various community members to celebrate the achievements of the past year.
