The Executive officer of the Jogulamba Temples Purandhar announced that the hundi counting at the Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeswara Swami temple had taken place recently.
The event drew a large crowd of devotees who had gathered for the occasion. The counting of offerings, which happens every 110 days, was a symbol of the faith and generosity of the visitors who had come from near and far.
The priests and temple officials began the meticulous process of counting the offerings as the sun rose, creating a reverent and anticipatory atmosphere. Over the past 110 days, devotees had left behind their offerings in the form of money, foreign currency, and precious metals.
The main hundi revealed a substantial collection of ₹49,12,941.00, showcasing the strong faith people had in the deity. Additional donations were found in other hundis, including ₹9,37,134.00 at the Annadana Satram and ₹5,16,548.00 from other sources.
In total, the temple received ₹58,66,623.00 in cash donations along with foreign currencies like American Dollars, Australian Dollars, Dubai Dirhams, Singapore Dollars, and Canadian Dollars. The counting team also recorded 33 grams of mixed gold and 344 grams of mixed silver among the offerings.
The temple officials expressed their gratitude for the generosity of the devotees, noting that the funds and precious metals would be used for various temple upkeep and charitable activities. The hundi counting event highlighted the unwavering faith and support of a global community that had come together to make offerings at the sacred temple.
