U.S. President Joe Biden sustained injuries from his tragic fall in the middle of handing out diplomas to the graduate candidates at the U.S. Air Force Academy of Colorado. The reason behind his fall were small black sandbags that were kept near the podium to support the teleprompter. This incident took place yesterday when the president was returning to his seat after congratulating the students with salutes and handshakes for almost 90 minutes. It was after the commencement address that he unconsciously stepped on the sandbag and fell on the stage.
There was also a video that surfaced on Twitter in which the president was seen jogging toward his seat before he fell. The Air Force Academy administrator and personnel from the secret service helped the president regain his balance, but soon he was seen sitting on his seat unharmed. His fall has raised many questions regarding his age and health status, as he is one of the oldest people in U.S. history to serve as president.
After the ceremony concluded, the President was making his way back to the White House, during which he addressed the reporters, saying he was “sandbagged”. This fall has surely dug into his previous episodes of him falling from the motorcycle near his home in Delaware, along with him tripping on the stairs while boarding the Air Force once. All of these incidents have a common reason for his losing balance.
While the president remained silent during the whole incident, communications director Ben LaBolt ensured to inform everyone of the president’s health through his tweet, which said, ‘He’s fine’. Ron DeSantis, Florida governor, and GOP presidential candidate, on the other hand, took it as an opportunity to directly mock the president’s service and his policies and wish the United States of America a quick recovery because of Biden’s ‘fall’.
