Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has started a special online class program to help students in rural colleges receive quality education.

On Friday, the university officially launched this initiative in the Committee Room of the Principal’s Office at JNTUH-UCEST. The event was led by Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, the Vice-Chancellor (I/c) of JNTUH, along with other senior officials, including Dr. K. Vijayakumar Reddy, Rector, and Dr. K. Venkateswara Rao, Registrar.

Prof. V. Balakista Reddy explained that the goal of the program is to provide quality education to 15 to 20 percent of students in rural colleges. The online classes will mainly be conducted on Fridays and Saturdays, depending on faculty availability. He mentioned that this initiative was introduced to address the shortage of teachers in some institutions.

The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized that students in rural areas should have access to the same expert faculty members as those studying at the Hyderabad main campus. He said, “Our vision is for every JNTUH student, whether in Wanaparthy, Sircilla, Mahbubabad, or any other rural college, to receive the same quality of education as the main campus. We are using e-resources and technology to maintain the academic reputation of JNTUH and bridge the educational gap.”
