Hyderabad: Officials from the Revenue and Irrigation Department conducted a survey at Bulkapur nala in Janwada village, Shankarpally mandal of Rangareddy district, for the second day on Wednesday.

A team of six members from the Irrigation Department, including the Revenue Inspector and Mandal Surveyor, used maps and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) machines to conduct the survey. They also surveyed the area near a farmhouse owned by businessman Pradeep Reddy in Janwada.

The Bulkapur nala flows beside Pradeep Reddy’s farmhouse. There are allegations that the farmhouse’s fence and gate were built on the nala. According to sources, the survey found that between 9 and 25 meters of the nala have been encroached by various structures. Once the survey is completed, it will be clear how many properties have encroached upon the nala. Officials have also marked nine meters from the nala as a buffer zone.

On Tuesday, a team of irrigation and revenue officials surveyed the nala passing through the farmhouse, which is reportedly leased by BRS working president KT Rama Rao. Pradeep Reddy had approached the High Court regarding the issue. The court instructed officials to follow legal procedures and examine all relevant documents, such as sale deeds and tax receipts. The petitioner must also be given a fair hearing before any decision is made by the authorities.

The matter remains pending for further adjudication, and the court granted the petitioner the right to approach the court again if there is any violation of its order. The next hearing is scheduled for September 12.
