TTD priests celebrated Maha Samprokshanam at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Jammu on Monday. As part of the festivities, they observed the Panchagavyadhivasam ritual, which involves using cow dung, urine, milk, curd, and ghee to sanctify the idol of the chief deity. The sculptors also carved the idol out of raw rock and performed other rituals to give relief to the deity from the strokes during sculpting.
The Archakas performed Akshinmochanam and Navakalasa Snapanam, and Vaidika rituals were observed at the Yagasala in the evening. The five-day ritual will conclude on June 8, after which the newly-built temple will be open to the public for darshan. The TTD is constructing temples across the country to promote Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Tatvam.
Chief priests Venugopala Deekshitulu and Kankanabhattar Ramakrishna Deekshitulu, along with Dy EOs Gunabhushan Reddy, Sivaprasad, and engineering officials, were present at the celebration.
